The Illinois Biotechnology Innovation Organization (iBIO), the premier trade association representing the state's vibrant life sciences sector with 94,000 jobs, today announced the appointment of three accomplished industry leaders to its board of directors.

CHICAGO, Feb. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Illinois Biotechnology Innovation Organization (iBIO), the premier trade association representing the state's vibrant life sciences sector with 94,000 jobs, today announced the appointment of three accomplished industry leaders to its board of directors: Khaled J. El-Chebli, Lead, Strategic Business Advisory at Astellas; Jerry Stovall, Senior US Sales Director at Lundbeck US; and Kelly Mullins, Government Relations Director at Pfizer.

The new board members bring exceptional credentials and diverse perspectives to iBIO:

Khaled J. El-Chebli brings over 15 years of pharmaceutical and biotech industry expertise to the board and is currently Lead,Strategic Business Advisory at Astellas. Khaled has demonstrated success throughout his career in product commercialization, business development, and strategic marketing across multiple therapeutic areas. His experience includes leading successful product launches in oncology, including non-small cell lung cancer, genitourinary cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and hematologic malignancies. El-Chebli's expertise in navigating complex product development and commercialization processes, particularly in immunotherapies and targeted therapies, will provide valuable insights to iBIO's strategic initiatives.

Jerry Stovall contributes three decades of pharmaceutical industry experience, currently serving as Senior US Sales Director at Lundbeck US. Leading sales teams across a 33-state region, Stovall focuses on neuroscience therapeutics, particularly in Alzheimer's disease and depression. His extensive leadership experience, including 22 years at AstraZeneca and roles at Eli Lilly and LEO Pharma, brings deep expertise in sales team development and strategic planning to the board.

Kelly Mullins offers 18 years of experience in government relations, healthcare policy, and public service. As Government Relations Director at Pfizer, she oversees government affairs and policy initiatives across five Midwest states, including Illinois. Her background includes nearly a decade at Youth Villages and experience as a field representative for the U.S. House of Representatives, providing crucial expertise in building strategic partnerships and navigating complex policy landscapes.

With these appointments, the iBIO board of directors now comprises 21 distinguished members representing the breadth and depth of Illinois' life sciences industry.
